What a KillerRocks Certificate IS
- An informal opinion from a knowledgeable community member based on submitted photographs
- An educational resource to help identify possible specimen types
- A starting point for further professional analysis if needed
- A record of a photo-based assessment at a point in time
What a KillerRocks Certificate is NOT
- NOT a professional gemological appraisal (GIA, AGS, AGA, or equivalent)
- NOT a legal certification of authenticity or value
- NOT a guarantee of species, origin, treatment status, or market value

Limitations of Photo-Based Identification
Accurate mineral and gemstone identification often requires physical testing including hardness tests, specific gravity measurement, refractive index measurement, spectroscopy, and other laboratory techniques that cannot be performed from photographs. Photo-based assessments may be incorrect and should be independently verified by a qualified professional before any significant decision is made.
