When did this hobby get expensive?

Remember when you could grab a quality rhodochrosite for under a hundred. Post-2020 gem show prices have gone sideways on anything cabinet grade. Still worth every dollar but just want to commiserate. Anyone else noticing this or is it just my end of the market?

Great tip on storage. I lost two pyrites to oxidation before I figured this out.
