Is this a meteorite? Heavy, magnetic, fusion crust-like surface

Found this while hiking in North Carolina. It has nickel-iron bands that look like what I have seen on meteorites. Strong magnet response. I know it is probably a slag or basalt but the surface texture has me curious. Who should I contact to get this tested properly?
